Register for High School Chorus

While much of the Bicentennial Symposium weekend is about choral performances by college and high school groups plus the world famous ensemble Chanticleer, a large portion of the event is focused on UMMGC alumni.

Heavily featured will be an Ambassadors of Song Alumni Chorus directed by Jerry Blackstone, former Men’s Glee Club director from 1988 to 2002. There will be multiple alumni rehearsals culminating in alumni performances Saturday evening, one with Club, another solo, both on the Hill Auditorium stage.

The weekend should be far and away as memorable as the 150th! There’ll be a Friday evening reception for all alumni, an all-alumni brunch on Sunday, and special anniversary lunchesFriday for both the 1967 World Tour Group (its 50th) and the 1992 Eastern European Tour Group (its 25th). Plenty of alumni engagement all ‘round!

Ambassadors of Song Alumni Chorus

All Michigan Men’s Glee Club Alumni can register to sing alongside your fellow Alumni and the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club in our closing performance for the Symposium. Directed by Dr. Jerry Blackstone, rehearsals take place on Friday and Saturday, with breaks throughout the day to attend other performances and workshops. U-M Men’s Glee Club Alumni hold a rich tradition of participation beyond their years in the Club, and we look forward to making music with you as a celebration of our past and future. Join us for this historic event!

Special Reunion Lunches

UMMGC alumni from two international tour groups will be celebrating special anniversaries during the weekend. These include the 1967 World Tour Group, its 50th, and the 1992 Eastern European Tour Group, its 25th. The two reunion groups enjoy a unique affinity. As students, the 1992 club members hosted the World Tour group in Ann Arbor when it celebrated its 25th anniversary.

As members of these groups (whether or not you participated in either tour), you can register to attend a reunion lunch held in the League that Friday, one for the 1967 group, another for the 1992 group. Each separate lunch will feature special programs celebrating each tour along with opportunities for camaraderie and the sharing of photos, stories, and memories. See registration details below.
